Deborah M. Johnson is the Founder and Lead Makeup Artist of Visions D’Vine, a premier beauty brand dedicated to accentuating both the outer and inner beauty of clients. With a passion for makeup artistry and a commitment to transforming self-esteem, Deborah provides services ranging from everyday glam to specialized fashion, print, and television makeup. Her work emphasizes not only enhancing physical appearance but also empowering clients to feel confident, radiant, and self-assured.
A graduate of the Von Lee School of Aesthetics in Pikesville, MD, Deborah holds a Maryland State License in Makeup Artistry and is certified in eyebrow threading. She has honed her skills under the mentorship of celebrity makeup artist Kym Lee and has attended numerous professional seminars and workshops, including the Fine Beauty Tour with Sam Fine and MAC Pro Classes. Her artistry has been featured in Black Sophisticate’s Hair Magazine, Essere Magazine, and on television networks including the Christian Broadcast Network. She has also contributed her expertise to major events such as the BET Honors and several film productions.
Beyond her technical expertise, Deborah is a dedicated creative entrepreneur and collaborator. She has served as a product manager for Wink N Pout by Kym Lee, a co-author for Faith for Fiery Trials, Volume IV, and a lead artist on various media projects. Through Visions D’Vine, she continues to provide personalized, chemical-free beauty solutions while mentoring aspiring artists and fostering confidence in every client she serves. Her work reflects a blend of artistry, professionalism, and purpose, making her a respected figure in the beauty industry.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the guidance and support of three incredible mentors: celebrity makeup artist Kym Lee, as well as Dr. Vicki Johnson and Dr. Nicole S. Mason, Esquire. Their wisdom, encouragement, and belief in my potential have shaped my career and inspired me to pursue excellence in every aspect of my work.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One of the values I hold most dear is giving back and empowering others through my work. This is exemplified by my Survivor Series campaign, which provides makeup and photography services to individuals sharing their survival stories. Inspired by my late mother, the campaign celebrates resilience and self-expression, and I am proud to relaunch it tomorrow for its fifth anniversary, sharing my own story as part of the launch.
