What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of diverse, challenging work experiences and the mentors who believed in me along the way. From my early days in fashion merchandising to progressive leadership roles in Philanthropy, HR and Executive Coaching, I have been self-guided by curiosity, hard work, fearlessness, and resilience. That journey has been fueled not only by a keen desire for personal growth, but by a deep commitment to helping others find meaning and purpose in their careers --- and lives. When experience, mentorship, and service to others intersect, we can all create impact that lasts.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from Maureen Shea, co-founder and CEO of Right Management / Florida- Caribbean: "put your best foot forward and follow your passion with determination."— and when you do, anything is possible! She epitomizes grace under fire, unwavering positivity and a commitment to balancing a robust career with a loving family.
I have also been the beneficiary of several male bosses over the years who challenged me intellectually and pushed me to be fearless in a male-centric business world!
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to work hard, stay "humble and hungry", and seize every opportunity to connect with others—and most of all, trust your path, even when it is not clearly illuminated. Before you know it, you will have found your purpose and connected with your audience -- and eventually, the accolades, title and recognition will follow!
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The impact of AI in all we do -- it is imperative that we stay ahead of the curve of learning and application while never losing sight to the importance of real human connection! The challenge is striking a balance between the science of AI technology and the art of human communication.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in work and my personal life are curiosity, wellness, community, and lifelong learning. I believe strongly in the "pay ahead philosophy" of nurturing potential and helping others thrive— coupled with cherishing time and creating memories with my family and friends while exploring all the world has to offer.
