About Deborah
Deborah Stroman has worked in multiple fields including as a college professor, entrepreneur, and public speaker. She has about 40 years of experience in business leadership and recently retired after approximately 18 years as a college professor, though she continues to teach and engage in projects to uplift people by building people, programs, and communities. Her professional work spans sport business, analytics, the healthcare space including men's brain health, and racial equity education. She owns Stroman Athletic and Asset Management, LLC, with a website at dstroman.com. She earned her first degree from the University of Virginia, her second degree from the University of North Carolina, and her Ph.D. from Capella University. She is an accredited provider with ISET CET, which allows her to review other curricula and offer CEUs. Born and raised outside of Philadelphia where she attended one of the best high schools in the state, she also builds a basketball court for her village in Costa Rica and leads retreats for men of color there. Her advice is that success comes from who knows you on a favorable basis rather than simply who or what you know, and that people should be more givers than takers.
