Her Story
About Deborah
Deborah Thorn is the founder of Out of Office, an online boutique she launched in February. The platform serves as a coastal resort lifestyle fashion destination that highlights ethically sourced small batch brands from across the country and world. She plans to introduce her own line of handmade tie-dye robes and cover-ups to fill a gap in Texas beach lifestyle brands for women. Thorn earned an economics degree from UT and began her career at Accenture in Austin doing consulting before spending a decade at Vinson and Elkins where she ran their analytics and finance departments. After a spinal cord injury that required three years of recovery, she left corporate roles at high-growth startups including Thrive and Dinsu, where she managed FP&A teams, to pursue her entrepreneurial passions. She also manages a family real estate business consisting of nine LLCs focused on short-term rentals, which sparked her interest in building her own venture.
