About Debra

Debra Suzette Brown serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Each One Teach One Together, Inc., an Atlanta, Georgia-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting grandparents raising grandchildren and families serving as kinship caregivers. Founded in 2018, the organization reflects Brown’s commitment to strengthening families and ensuring that relatives who step forward to care for children have access to practical resources, guidance, and community support. After transitioning from a contract role with the state, Brown made the organization her full-time focus, dedicating her experience and leadership to advancing its mission.

Brown’s work is deeply informed by her personal experience as a foster and adoptive parent. Having adopted ten children and later welcomed her granddaughter into her home, she brings firsthand understanding, compassion, and insight into the responsibilities and challenges faced by kinship caregivers. Through Each One Teach One Together, Inc., she provides essential resources such as furniture, a nonperishable food pantry, monthly support meetings, and annual toy distributions for families. She also provides coaching to help relatives who may be unprepared for a sudden placement navigate their new responsibilities and works closely with the Georgia Navigators program to connect families with appropriate referrals and community services.

Beyond her organization, Brown has expanded her advocacy through leadership and service with organizations focused on kinship care and aging. She serves as a Grand Voice for Generations United and sits on the board of the University of Southern California School of Gerontology, where she represents kinship-related issues. Her dedication to supporting caregivers and families has also been recognized through proclamations from the Governor of Georgia, the City of South Fulton, and a congressional senator. Through her nonprofit leadership, advocacy, and personal commitment to kinship families, Brown continues to create meaningful support systems for caregivers and the children entrusted to their care.
