Her Interview
Ten minutes with Decha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to my strong faith in God, which serves as the foundation for everything I do. I am also deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my husband, sister, parents, and close friends, whose encouragement and belief in me have helped me navigate challenges and continue moving forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to focus on becoming valuable, not just successful. Titles come and go, but if you consistently solve meaningful problems, lead with integrity, and help others succeed, opportunities will always find you. That mindset has guided every stage of my career—from the Dallas Cowboys to healthcare, retail, and now building Tri-Leader.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let social norms or others' expectations define what a certain role should look like, sound like, or where they should come from. As a Black woman in male-dominated industries like sports and healthcare, I've learned the importance of believing in yourself, staying true to your purpose, and trusting that faith can open doors others may not see.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is increasing women's representation in executive leadership, especially in sports, healthcare, and corporate environments. The greatest opportunity lies in developing future leaders through intentional coaching, mentorship, and leadership programs like Tri-Leader.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, integrity, excellence, and service are the values that guide both my work and personal life. I believe leadership begins with character, and I'm passionate about helping others grow into confident, effective leaders who make a positive impact in their organizations and communities.
