About Dedra
My Journey in Beauty & Crown Confidence Prosthetics
I have been a licensed Cosmetologist for more than 30 years, and throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping women feel beautiful, confident, and comfortable in their own skin. Beauty has always been more than a profession to me—it has been a way to connect with people, encourage them, and help them see the beauty in themselves.
As my career evolved, so did my purpose. I became a Certified Cranial Prosthesis Specialist and expanded my knowledge through my experience as a Certified Medical Biller and Eligibility Specialist. These areas of expertise came together and inspired me to create Crown Confidence Prosthetics.
I founded Crown Confidence Prosthetics because I understand that medically related hair loss can affect so much more than someone’s appearance. For someone experiencing alopecia, cancer treatment, autoimmune conditions, surgery, burns, or other forms of medical hair loss, losing their hair can also mean losing a piece of their confidence and sense of identity.
My goal is to provide more than a medical wig or cranial prosthesis. I want my clients to feel heard, cared for, beautiful, and confident again. My background in cosmetology allows me to understand the importance of fit, styling, appearance, and personalization, while my medical billing and eligibility experience gives me the knowledge to help clients better understand the insurance and documentation process when coverage may be available.
Crown Confidence Prosthetics represents the next chapter of my 30-plus years in the beauty industry. I am bringing my beauty experience, healthcare knowledge, and passion for helping others together to create something with purpose.
My vision is to grow Crown Confidence Prosthetics into a trusted resource for individuals experiencing medical hair loss while also educating and empowering other professionals who want to enter the cranial prosthesis field.
I believe everyone deserves to look in the mirror and recognize themselves again. For me, this isn’t simply about hair. It’s about restoring confidence, dignity, and the feeling of being yourself again—one crown at a time.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Follow your heart first and foremost. Sometimes things come together in pieces, so take everything in and follow your heart. Whatever your dreams and your passion, just follow it. Work hard, believe in what it is that they set their mind to. Don't give up. If they don't know, just keep working and keep praying.
