About Deepa
Deepa Desai is a partner and management-side employment lawyer at Fisher Phillips. She focuses her practice on employment litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour, pay equity, and restrictive covenants, as well as advice and counsel on workplace compliance matters. A 2016 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law, she previously served as co-president of the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston in 2022 and holds multiple leadership roles on the Northeastern Law Alumni Board of Directors.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think to be curious and stay curious, and kind of nimble. Careers are long these days. It's helpful to have an open mindset towards where careers might go. Feel open to pivot and explore things. Maintaining that curiosity is what will be motivating. Following your curiosity and your passion is really a good way to approach a career. Sometimes the things that I've found most rewarding are the things that I've done sort of afraid, so do it anyway, do it afraid. It's often the best learning experience.
