About Delanna
I transitioned from a corporate job into coaching after volunteering for 6 years with trauma-informed groups through a nonprofit organization. I even negotiated with my corporate employer to let me volunteer during work hours, which they counted as a donation. After realizing my passion for mentoring and facilitating, I decided to get my coaching certification. Now I create and deliver programs for companies like New Life Live, a Christian-based organization that offers small group coaching opportunities. I'm currently working with safe houses, providing small group coaching to women who have been trafficked and are in hiding. It's been a gift and a blessing to bring hope, energy, and creativity to help them tie healing with leadership. I serve on the board of Alive at Last, an organization that recruits and trains Christian volunteers to mentor women, helping them with everything from job interviews to doctor appointments to finding housing. I also work part-time for Poema Foundation as an overnight staff member at their safe house, where I mentor the women and help with various needs around the house.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God's grace and mercy. Through my own challenges, God had women come alongside me who mentored me, and I gathered much wisdom from counselors. That is what drives me - being able to live out 1 Corinthians 1:5-7, which is about how the God of all comfort comforted me whenever I was in need, and now I can go and comfort others. The women who walked with me through my difficult times showed me the power of mentorship and support, and that's what I'm now able to give back to the women I work with in the safe houses and through my coaching programs.
