Q

What do you attribute your success to?

My success is rooted in a combination of grit, grace, and God-given identity. I started my career through the Welfare-to-Work program — walking into the workforce with no blueprint, no corporate connections, and no guarantees. What I did have was a deep determination to build a different outcome for my life and my family.

That grit carried me from the front line all the way to the top 1% of leaders at United Airlines, and grace carried me through every and any room where preparation alone couldn’t. Along the way, I became a student of people, systems, culture, and strategy — strengthening my ability to lead with clarity, wisdom, and compassion.

Launching Delilah Bardlette Leadership Solutions is part of that success story — not because it’s a business, but because it is the expression of everything I’ve learned: leadership excellence, identity-driven growth, and the power of transforming cultures by transforming people.

My journey is proof that you can start anywhere, rise everywhere, and lead with both strength and humility.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was this:

“Bring people along with your thinking.”

As a natural strategist and deep thinker, I could often see the path three, four, even ten steps ahead. What I didn’t realize early on is that not everyone processes information the same way. My pace wasn’t the issue — my communication was.

Once I learned to show my work — to bring people into my thought process, not just the final decision — everything changed.

Teams aligned faster.

Partnerships strengthened.

Momentum increased.

And my influence expanded.

That single lesson transformed the way I lead: Leadership is not just about having the insight — it’s about helping others see it too.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

For women entering aviation:

Aviation is an extraordinary industry, but it can be intense, complex, and historically male-dominated. My advice is simple:

Own your voice early, trust your competence, and don’t shrink to fit the room you walk into.

Your perspective is needed. Your presence matters. And your growth will come through both courage and connection. Seek mentors, stay curious, and never underestimate where hard work, integrity, and consistency can take you — I’m living proof.

For women entering leadership development:

Leadership development is a calling as much as it is a profession. To thrive here, you must:

• Know who you are

• Lead from identity, not insecurity

• Constantly sharpen your gift

• And stay anchored in purpose

People don’t need more theories — they need leaders who can see them, guide them, and activate their potential. Develop yourself as deeply as you develop others, and your impact will multiply.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Leadership development is standing at a crossroads. The biggest challenges — and opportunities — are the same: Noise, identity, and human capacity.

We live in a time where leaders are overloaded with information but underdeveloped in identity. Organizations are investing billions into skill-building but overlooking the human, emotional, and cultural components of leadership that drive real transformation.

The opportunity is tremendous:

• Leaders are hungrier than ever for clarity.

• Companies are realizing culture is strategy.

• And the world is demanding leadership that is more human, not less.

The gap between training and true transformation is wide — and my work exists to close it.

Those who can integrate clarity, identity, and execution will shape the future of leadership.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that anchor my life and work are:

1. Integrity

Doing what’s right when no one is watching — because leadership without integrity is influence without direction.

2. Excellence

Not perfectionism. Excellence — the commitment to show up fully, serve well, and leave every space better than I found it.

3. Faith

My life, leadership, and purpose are rooted in Kingdom principles. Faith guides my decisions, my posture, and my ability to lead with both strength and compassion. I am actively involved with my amazing church, Champion Life Center in Spring Texas!

4. Service

Leadership is not about titles. It’s about impact. Serving people well is at the heart of everything I do.

5. Growth

I believe deeply in continuous transformation — personally and professionally. If I’m asking others to grow, I must be growing too.

These values are not categories to balance — they are the foundation that shapes how I lead, build, and show up in the world.
