Her Interview
Ten minutes with Delilah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think probably my intuition and just leaning into what it is to be a woman and kind of using that energy to further the success that I'm looking for.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was probably fake it till you make it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would probably say to not let the boys talk you out of the pink tape measure and to listen to how you feel and lean into that all the time.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My industry is pretty rife with people who view construction and roofing as kind of a get-rich-quick scheme, and so overcoming that kind of stigma where it's attached to like specifically roofing contractors is probably the biggest challenge and simultaneously like the most rewarding. Coming through and being able to show a property owner and a client that like you can trust me in spite of what the industry in spite of what like the general understanding is of construction. I'm gonna do what I say I'm gonna do.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Probably the next ones are gonna be staying true to integrity and what my morals are. Probably Comfort is Death. And you know honesty over commission all day long.
