About Delilah
Delilah Gray founded Survivor Sparks in 2025 to support survivors of sexual violence by creating the resources she wished she had access to as a teenager. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the nonprofit provides educational guides, informational videos, a global Discord community, and art healing sessions on Instagram Live to help survivors reduce anxiety and connect with others. Prior to this, Gray spent ten years in entertainment journalism before deciding to pursue work that aligned more closely with her desire to help people feel safe and informed. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, she emphasizes self-directed learning and has built the organization around principles of kindness, education, and community support, drawing on her experiences to make healing accessible to survivors around the world regardless of age or identity.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Delilah
01What do you attribute your success to?
It definitely is passion because even on days where I feel like giving up, I'm like, no, you know what? This has already helped so many people, I wanted to keep helping people. Getting up in the morning really is like, okay, how can I better service people who really, really need it? And having a great support system, like, I have a fiancee who is the most supportive man in the world and I have my parents who are also extremely supportive.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is it's going to be hard and confusing at points, but you just really have to believe that you are capable of doing it, and that you can be your own cheerleader as you navigate all of this, because there were times where I had to do so much paperwork, and I'm just like, I don't know what any of this means. You just have to remind yourself that you are capable, and that you have accomplished everything before this, you can accomplish this too.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
For both work and my personal life, it's at the end of the day, it's having my principles. Especially in the world of social media, it can get really hard, because you have people who are very mean... you have to stick to your principles of, like, okay, I am not going to be angry with these people... my principles are to stay kind, to educate, and to remind people that a community is there, and that healing is possible. So, it really is just sticking to my principles, both in and out of work.
