What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my sister Marion: to lead with compassion, stay committed to your values, and use your work to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is: don’t be afraid to start something—there will always be people who need the services you offer and are searching for solutions you can provide, so go for it!
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge I am currently facing is that nobody seems to have a sense of urgency about things. About taking care of things themselves and making sure that they are planned for and provided for in the future.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in work and life are family, perseverance, and creativity—I cherish time with my grandchildren, honor the lessons shared by my late mother, and celebrate milestones like my 10 years of sobriety.
