Her Story
About Delphia
My journey really started out of college when I thought I was going to be an attorney. I went into the banking field instead, and after one year of law school, I recognized that wasn't my path. I started my career focusing on bank management, became a bank officer, and ascended the ladder pretty quickly. I enjoyed that work and ended up seeing the human resource perspective of how people were being treated and taken care of, and how that helped support the environment. I recognized that we had opportunities to do things a little differently, to do things better. That's been my passion - trying to make sure that we bridge the gap from employee to employer to find the best possible outcome for both, and ultimately to help organizations be as successful as they possibly can. As my career continued to transition and evolve, I got out of banking and moved into logistics and energy resource, continuing the mantra of being a good steward of human-centric integrity, making sure that people can be their best selves at home and at work, and that the organization can be its very best through that vehicle. I started my consulting business about 10 years ago as a result of different organizations seeing the work I was doing in my professional world and being asked to help other organizations. I started my consulting work to try to help organizations be successful and see a strategy in how to navigate the aspects of HR, of inclusion, of leadership and effectiveness. I was encouraged and asked to write a book by a number of my clients - their perspective was that what I do, people need to know more about it. So I wrote my book that came out in 2024, which is titled 'Including You, Leading Inclusion from Where You Are.' I'm just continuing the mantra of being a good steward of human-centric integrity and inclusive leadership. In a typical day, I'm focusing on how we navigate all the nuances of effectiveness and engagement, particularly in this climate - how do we help people to lead effectively, to be successful, and how do I encourage individuals to recognize their value and worth so they can do their best work. I speak with people from very different roles, responsibilities, and levels of responsibility, sharing a very similar message that helps people get to their center self so they can understand how they fit in the dynamics of success in whatever environment they're in. I speak with everyone from CEOs to general managers throughout organizations. It's all about how we take accountability for the spaces we're in, to be our best selves, to bring people into the fold, not create environments that are exclusive and unwelcoming, in the vein of moving forward with the organizational mission.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Right now, the opportunity, particularly in this climate, is how do we help people to lead effectively and to be successful. I focus on how I can encourage individuals to recognize their value and worth so that they can do their best work. The challenge is around DEI in this climate - I know DEI is a challenge, but if the core of inclusion, bringing people together so that they can be successful, is recognized, then we don't need to belabor the thought of the D, the E, the I, and all of those acronyms. We just need to recognize that no one wants to be excluded in any environment. As individuals, we can create the space - we have a personal accountability to create the space to create inclusive environments so that everyone can thrive, be successful, and ultimately we're successful together.
