About Demisha
Demisha Ramirez has built her career around connecting with people. From reporting the news and working in financial services to coaching women's boxing and helping businesses navigate commercial insurance, each role has strengthened her communication skills, adaptability, and passion for serving her community.
Today, Ramirez is a Commercial Marketing Assistant with GTPS Insurance Agency, where she works alongside producers to grow the agency's commercial presence throughout Central Illinois.
She enjoys networking with local business owners, representing the agency at community events, assisting with commercial insurance submissions, and building lasting professional relationships.
A graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Ramirez began her career as a television news reporter before transitioning into banking and financial services.
The experiences she gained throughout each chapter of her career continue to shape the way she approaches her work today.
Outside of her professional career, Ramirez is an amateur boxer with more than eight years of experience and coaches women's boxing, helping athletes build confidence, discipline, and technical skills in a supportive environment.
She also volunteers in the children's ministry at her church and enjoys finding ways to stay involved in the community.
Whether she's meeting new people, coaching in the gym, or volunteering, Ramirez values meaningful connections and is always eager to learn, grow, and give back.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence — to never giving up and consistently showing up, even when things get difficult.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've received is to just go after what you want to accomplish, rather than waiting for the right moment.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd tell young women entering this field to stay true to who they are and not lose sight of their own identity as they grow professionally.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Kindness, respect, and adaptability are the values I hold most important, both in my career and in my personal life.
