Her Interview

Ten minutes with Denise

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of my managers was big on family and work-life balance. She advised that family needs to be part of decisions, align with companies that value that, take time off, have vacations, spend time with family because you won't get that time back with your kid.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Invest in your competency and yourself, be a continuous learner, lead with curiosity, surround yourself with people who think differently, lead with purpose, align with purpose, work with others collaboratively, and have a team spirit because that will take you farther than talent alone.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Thinking more globally as things are interconnected, being open to different perspectives and cultures, having the courage to speak up, showing empathy especially to the less fortunate, and leaving the world better than we found it.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Purpose, faith, integrity, leaving the world a better place than found, innovation, and problem-solving rather than saying no to challenges.
