Her Interview
Ten minutes with Denise
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to the confidence and encouragement my father instilled in me. He always told me that I was going to accomplish great things and that he would support me every step of the way. Although he is no longer here, those words continue to motivate and inspire me, serving as a constant reminder to pursue excellence, persevere through challenges, and honor the belief he had in my potential.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of career advice I have received is to make decisions with the future in mind and ensure that I can stand behind them tomorrow as confidently as I do today. I have also learned the importance of keeping my pipeline full and consistently creating new opportunities. Persistence has been a key factor in my success, and I believe that steady effort and follow-through ultimately lead to meaningful results.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the sales and marketing industry is to remain persistent and resilient, especially when faced with rejection. Success in sales often comes from staying focused despite hearing “no” and continuing to build relationships with confidence. I also believe that creativity is one of the most valuable tools you can bring to the table, as innovative ideas and tailored solutions are often what resonate most with clients and help build lasting partnerships.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I continue to navigate is effective time management and staying highly organized while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities. As opportunities and demands increase, maintaining focus and efficiency becomes even more important. I have also learned that knowing when to say no is a critical professional skill, as it allows me to protect my time, set healthy boundaries, and remain committed to the priorities that create the greatest impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are integrity, respect, consistency, and service. I believe that your reputation is one of your most valuable assets, so it is essential to treat people with respect, follow through on your commitments, and always strive to do the right thing. I also believe in going the extra mile for clients and colleagues, as meaningful relationships are built through trust and reliability. Additionally, I view time as one of our most valuable resources, and giving someone your time and attention is one of the clearest ways to show respect and appreciation.
