Her Story
About Denise
I started in automotive marketing in 2015 as a social media specialist. At the time, the agency maybe had two dealers that were utilizing social advertising, and I came in to run those. We were building an online learning center where dealerships could go and learn about digital marketing and log into a portal. I did some of the courses on there, and the owner of the company heard me speak and asked if I would like to speak professionally. I said yes, and after that, I was invited to speak at all different automotive marketing conferences, and it just kind of took off from there. I spoke at the National Automotive Dealership Association, the Directory for Publishers Conference, and the World Shopper Conference in Portugal. I wrote a book in 2017 called 'Can You See Me Now?' about how your advertising can get seen by the right people at the right time. I took the seat as President and COO at the agency in 2019. After that, I continued to speak, built the team, built a killer middle management, invested in technology, and built a tech platform. About 2 weeks ago, I decided to step away from that position because I felt that the agency was in a good spot, and it was time for me to move on to something different. I am now a free agent pursuing other avenues in automotive marketing.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you are looking to adventure into automotive marketing, I think my biggest advice to any women would be to never stop learning and take every opportunity you can and run with it. I think that our industry is built on the louder the voice, the bigger you are. And I think that there's a lot at our fingertips right now, especially in the realm of tech and what we're able to produce as individuals. I think that even if you do work for a company, having your own personal brand is everything to your success, even at that company.
