About Denise

Denise Pfeiffer is a physical therapist with over three decades of experience , and 12 years of specializing in oncology rehabilitation. She began her career in 1995 as a general physical therapist working in neurological acute rehabilitation, acute care, home health, and outpatient settings. Her interest in oncology developed during her time in acute care, where she worked with post-mastectomy patients and helped create activity guidelines and exercise protocols. In 2014, she pioneered and assumed the role of cancer rehabilitation navigator and facilitated coordination of programming for Cancer Rehab Services. She expanded the position of cancer rehab navigator to full time by 2018. She earned STAR Oncology Certification through a national program in 2014 , PORI Oncology certification and holds a combined bachelor's-master's degree in physical therapy from D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York. Denise also developed and leads a breast cancer lymphedema surveillance program utilizing bioimpedance measurements for early detection and reversible intervention. She has assisted other institutions in implementing similar models of care and remains passionate about patient education, functional screening, and connecting individuals to supportive resources throughout their cancer journey.

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success has truly been driven by the desire to help others achieve their highest level of function and quality of life. I have been graced with numerous opportunities to use my initiative for professional growth and program development. In the field of physical therapy and Oncology rehabilitation. I give all credit to God for using me as a tool to do good in this world.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Follow your drive. When you find your purpose, follow it. I knew at a young age I wanted to be a physical therapist and have been blessed to follow that path with passion and integrity.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Hold integrity in who you are and remain humble . Keep the focus on doing what is right for your patients.. Do not judge your worth through others eyes.
