Leadership isn't about having the most experience; It's about learning from everyone. Focus on serving others, leading with integrity, and following through. Trust naturally follows.

Ten minutes with Denisse
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of curiosity, hard work, and a willingness to step outside of my comfort zone. Early in my career, I was incredibly shy, but I learned that growth happens when we say yes to opportunities that challenge us. I’ve also been fortunate to build meaningful relationships with mentors, colleagues, and community members who have supported and encouraged me along the way. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy helping others succeed, and I believe that mindset has opened many doors throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is to never stop learning and to never be afraid to ask questions. You don’t have to know everything before taking the next step. Some of the biggest opportunities in my life came when I was willing to learn as I went and trust myself to figure things out. I also live by the phrase, “No te quedes con las ganas.” If there’s something you want to pursue, make the time, take the chance, and give it your all.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don’t wait until you feel completely ready. Confidence is built through action, not before it. Be curious, ask questions, and invest in relationships. Your network is not just about career opportunities, it’s about finding people who inspire you, challenge you, and support your growth. Most importantly, stay authentic. The most successful people I’ve met are the ones who remain true to who they are while continuing to evolve and learn.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is helping people build meaningful relationships in a world that is becoming increasingly digital. Technology has made it easier than ever to connect, but genuine relationships still require trust, time, and human interaction. At the same time, that creates one of our greatest opportunities: bringing people together in authentic ways. Businesses and organizations that focus on community and relationships will continue to thrive because people are ultimately looking for connection, not just transactions.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most are community, authenticity, growth, and compassion.
I care deeply about people and relationships. Whether in my work or personal life, I believe success means very little if you can’t share it with others or use it to help those around you. I also believe in staying authentic and embracing who you are rather than trying to fit into someone else’s definition of success.
I value continuous growth and learning, because every experience, challenge, and conversation has something to teach us. And above all, I try to lead with compassion. The world can always use more understanding, encouragement, and kindness.
Those are the values I try to carry with me every day.
