Her Interview

Ten minutes with Desiree

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to believing in treating my team members as I would my own patients, because they are the ones directly in front of the patients. Over the years, I have been recognized at work for my leadership skills and for helping others lead their teams effectively.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice I give to young women entering the healthcare industry is: “If you cannot help your team, they cannot help their patients.” I truly believe in supporting and nurturing my team, as their ability to perform directly impacts the quality of care patients receive.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

On a personal and professional level, I value the connections I build both at work and at home. I met my husband while working and had the opportunity to train him professionally. We have been married for 14 years and have two children, with our youngest recently earning a black belt at age 12.
