01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the greatest pieces of advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor during my time with H&R Block, my district manager, David West. He encouraged me to stop putting myself in a box and to stop minimizing the skills, accomplishments, and strengths I already possessed.
For a long time, whenever I felt nervous or uncertain, I had a tendency to downplay my abilities so I wouldn’t make others uncomfortable or risk embarrassing myself. David helped me realize that diminishing myself was only limiting my growth and preventing me from fully stepping into my potential.
That advice completely shifted the way I approached both my personal and professional life. It gave me the confidence to move forward with my company, speak in front of others, present myself authentically, and connect with people in a more powerful and genuine way.
His mentorship played a huge role in helping me recognize my value and trust my voice.
To this day, the lesson he taught me continues to guide me: never minimize yourself.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For professionals looking to enter my field, my biggest advice would be to continuously invest in developing your skills, especially your communication and public speaking abilities. Being able to connect with people, communicate clearly, and speak with confidence is essential in building trust, creating meaningful relationships, and making a lasting impact.
I also encourage people to stay open to learning from others. Listen to entrepreneurs, mentors, and experienced professionals who have valuable insight to share.
Be willing to accept feedback, apply advice, and grow through every experience, whether positive or challenging. Success in this field comes from a combination of confidence, empathy, adaptability, and a genuine willingness to keep learning and evolving.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I currently see in my field is that many employees initially view communication coaching and professional development as a form of punishment rather than an opportunity for growth.
Often, managers will reach out because an employee could benefit from strengthening their communication skills or improving client interactions. By the time those individuals come to me, they may already feel discouraged, singled out, or as though they are being criticized.
A major part of my role is helping shift that perspective. I work to reassure them that this process is not about punishment or focusing on shortcomings, it’s about reinforcing the strengths they already have and helping them build greater confidence in how they communicate and present themselves.
My goal is to create a supportive and empowering environment where people feel encouraged to grow, develop new skills, and recognize their own potential. When approached with empathy and understanding, these experiences often become transformative, not only for the individual but for the overall workplace culture as well.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my professional life, the values that guide me most are connection, compassion, and empowerment. I’m passionate about bridging communication gaps, helping people feel truly seen and heard, and creating environments where individuals feel supported, confident, and valued. Through branding, marketing, and team culture development, my goal is to help businesses and individuals build stronger, more authentic relationships both within their organizations and with the communities they serve.
At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief that the way we care for our environment is a reflection of the way we care for one another. Supporting people, protecting the planet, and advocating for animals are all deeply connected to who I am and the work I want to contribute to the world. I believe real impact comes from compassion, empathy, and a willingness to show up for others in meaningful ways.
I never want to see a child feel left out, a family struggle in silence, or a mother trying to stretch her last $20 just to make it to the next paycheck. Those realities are what continue to motivate me every day. If there is anything I can do to uplift others, strengthen communities, and create positive change, then I know I’m walking in my purpose.
