Her Story
About Destiny
I am a teacher working with students of different ages, from kindergarten up to high school. I'm currently studying UX (user experience) and AI (artificial intelligence), having dedicated about 4 years to UX and almost 3 years to AI. I hold a master's degree in user experience, which I consider my most notable professional achievement. I'm currently interning until August. I'm passionate about the tech field, particularly AI, where I believe opportunities are endless in today's world. I recommend that anyone who hasn't tapped into AI should explore it. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and anything creative - I like to create things.

Ten minutes with Destiny
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being able to be myself. I feel like if we're doing anything in life, we should have the opportunity to be ourselves, and we shouldn't have to filter out any parts of our true self in order to do anything in life. Otherwise, it doesn't feel like an authentic thing that we're doing.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice that I would give to young women entering the industry is to not let anything stop them from doing what they're doing. I know that women, in some fields, like what I'm in, tech, it's male-dominated, so it's important for us not to let that reflect our abilities and what we're contributing to the fields.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
For AI, some of the biggest challenges include ethics, which is a huge one. Another challenge is security and privacy, which people often mention. As for opportunities with AI, I feel like at this point, in today's world, opportunities are endless. I recommend that anyone who has not tapped into AI should do it.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Keeping good company around me is most important, because I believe that my surroundings ultimately reflect who I am as a person. I value my surroundings, my environment, and the people within it.
