Her Interview
Ten minutes with Destiny
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence and a strong family work ethic. Both parents had excellent work ethics, with my mom as a lawyer and dad in sales who won incentive trips. My brother and uncles were also in sales, so it comes naturally. I've been in sales since Girl Scout cookies and built my business from scratch over 16 years at SHI.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Having excellent mentors as both parents were in business roles with a lawyer mother and sales father who won incentive trips. Her family work ethic has attributed to her success as her brother and two Uncles were also in sales.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You have to be a self-starter and persistent. Results take time, especially in sales. It took me 16 years to land my biggest deal. Be patient, stick with it, and do the right thing even when results aren't immediate.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Helping clients understand AI costs and token usage, particularly with tools like Copilot. Technology is changing constantly with AI, and there's always something new to worry about security-wise or costs.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Consistency and persistence are key, along with building relationships and helping people. I get personal satisfaction from helping clients and building long-term relationships. My communications degree helps with public speaking and writing in my role.
