Her Story

About Destiny

I started in property management and real estate when I was 19 as a part-time leasing person, and then moved my way up the ranks. I never really wanted to be more than an executive manager - never wanted to go to the presidential role, because I do have a life outside of work. I've been managing and managing people and new construction assets for many, many years. That's my gifting, that's where I'm probably most seasoned. Then I just started getting into media, and I started a media company on the side with an LLC and a 501c3 nonprofit in 2014, which does tie in - they complement one another. In my typical day, I'm juggling many hats between my paid corporate job and my media company. I come in, make sure everything looks good, smells good, feels good, check in with my team, usually do a team huddle, make sure everybody has their set responsibilities. I walk the property, and if we have a visit or a photo shoot or something of that nature, I go and walk with them and make sure everything looks good. I ensure that we're keeping up with leasing, our numbers, our duties, our responsibilities, our deadlines. Then, coupled in with that, either after hours, or on the weekends, or on days off, or on my lunch breaks, I work on my media stuff. Part of that is we're currently working on a documentary called The Vision, which is going to be released in September of this year, with Dr. Alveda King from the King family as my partner, and we produced it together. We have a show together called The Vision, and then I'm also associate producer on a project called The Last Evangelist. Between all that, running the YouTube channel for Christian Women in Media, producing, helping people launch their projects, building teams - that's pretty much a day for me. I say I'm a fruitful lady wearing many hats.
