Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say the support from my family, especially my sister and both my parents. I have had a lot of lows in terms of my personal health, which has been very difficult for me to get through, and my family has stood besides me like a rock, encouraging me and motivating me throughout. I used to feel like, oh my god, you know, I'm sick, I'm not gonna be able to get to the things that I want, like I had planned. And they've always told me that it's okay, that life's not gonna happen for everything that you've planned, there are going to be certain challenges, and we are right by you. There's no timeline on achieving things, and it's okay to take a step back to look after yourself, and then you can always get back to whatever it is, stronger and better than before. Never have I ever once felt like I'm a failure, even in the times where I've failed in life. And I attribute all of that to them - being able to study, being able to pursue my master's. I think they've been my loudest cheerleaders every time I've been successful, and they've always been silently backing me, supporting me throughout all my lows. The three of them are the ones that I would credit for all my success.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The one advice I would give is to go for something that interests you. Dive deeper into that and pursue your passion, because that might lead you to where you've always wanted to be. There might be certain difficulties that you might encounter down your path, but don't be afraid to still keep on going and join more of the communities or groups that are going to help you take it to the next level. When you're surrounded by like-minded people, it enables you to learn more, and the information sharing just gives you a different perspective on what you've already been doing, and that many times is something that you might not know is needed.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values I hold in the highest regards are honesty, loyalty, and determination or will to do something. First one being honesty - I believe that you need to be honest, not only with yourself and the people you care about, but even in terms of my career. I respect the transparency that you have with your colleagues and with your manager. I think it really helps in shaping who you are in your career as well, and it takes you far.
