About Devin
Devin Adams serves as an executive assistant and model while balancing responsibilities as a mom, homemaker, Bible study teacher, and PTO president. Based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, she has spent the past 20 years pursuing multiple careers simultaneously, drawing from her education in medical assistant school and affiliations with Avanti Modeling and Agency as well as Studio One in Nashville. Adams is driven by a desire to support family and community, influenced by her grandmother's strong will after losing her mother at a young age. She volunteers by speaking to underprivileged teenage girls about relationships through Girls' Night Inn International. In her work, she emphasizes not compromising her ethics despite industry pressures, and she advises young women that success does not require sacrificing values, citing patience and figures like Eleanor Roosevelt as paths to recognition. Her biggest challenge is managing full-time motherhood alongside travel demands of her career.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Devin
01What do you attribute your success to?
My grandmother's strong will and drive. She was a tremendous influence on me after my mom passed.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Fake it till you make it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It does not take compromising those values and ethics to be noticed. You could still do that and be an Eleanor Roosevelt and get just as much recognition. Sometimes it just takes a little more patience.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Being in two places at once, being a mom full-time and not missing moments while pursuing a career that requires traveling out of town.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Not compromising my ethics because it is a hard industry, and making sure that I don't cross those lines just for fear of saying no will lose me a job. I would rather lose the job.
