Deya Balboa is a seasoned business development leader with deep expertise in energy analytics, strategic planning, and cost intelligence. Currently serving as a Senior Business Development Manager at Rystad Energy, she combines her Master’s in Analytics from Texas A&M University with over a decade of hands-on experience across the oil and gas sector. At Rystad, Deya helps clients navigate market volatility through data-driven insights, specializing in cost benchmarking, estimating, and tracking price inflation trends that are critical to supply chain success. Her analytical precision and strategic mindset continue to shape key conversations around energy pricing and procurement strategies across North America.
Before joining Rystad Energy, Deya held a series of high-impact roles at McDermott International, where she led commercial strategy and analytics initiatives for billion-dollar offshore and onshore energy projects. Her early career includes estimating and project control positions at Dow Chemical and Arc Designs, where she built foundational expertise in cost management and fabrication oversight. A former NCAA Division I athlete on a full-ride tennis scholarship, Deya credits her competitive drive and discipline as keys to her professional success. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, she continues to uplift voices in her industry while mentoring the next generation of energy professionals.

I attribute my success to hard work and never giving up, no matter how challenging things may get.

My advice to young women entering this industry is that you can do anything—despite it being a predominantly male field, I’ve proven that you can rise to the top and excel.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field is that it’s male-driven, but that hasn’t stopped me from achieving greatness and seizing every opportunity.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both work and life are staying positive, always pursuing my dreams, and giving back by actively supporting community charities.
