Her Story

About Diana

Diana Echols is an e-commerce professional with 3 to 4 years of experience operating her own Amazon and eBay store, where she drop ships and resells products sourced from stores such as TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, including antiques and unique items. She transitioned into this field as a single mom seeking extra income after beginning her career in healthcare administration. She is a certified medical assistant who worked in a hospital setting for about 12 years, advancing from dining services to patient care associate in maternity and later handling patient appointment and surgery scheduling in the corporate office. She attributes her success to her children and values empathy, communication, and respect in both her work and personal life.

Ten minutes with Diana

01What do you attribute your success to?

My children. I do everything for them. Everything, not only just for them to help them, but also to guide them and show them that anything is possible.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice was take the leap of faith. Do not allow your fear to overcome you, and keep you in a comfort zone. you just gotta get out there and try it. And that's what I did with Amazon, eBay, even some of my healthcare jobs. Sometimes I didn't think I would be able to do it, and I just took that leap of faith, and I succeeded.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be positive. Stay consistent. And treat everybody the way you would want to be treated.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is just being in a saturated market. Sometimes it's kind of hard to obtain, you know, a career or a long-term job. I usually have, like, independent contractor jobs. However, the good part about it is just helping people, and just being able to help people in different sectors of healthcare.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My values, would be empathy, communication, great communication skills, respect. Yeah, that… those 3 are my top, to be honest. He's on my day-to-day life and… and my career.
