Her Story

About Diana

Diana Gomez is the co-owner of Exclusive Iron Doors LLC, a San Antonio-based manufacturing company specializing in custom steel products exported nationwide across the U.S. market through a combination of e-commerce, wholesale distribution, and an in-person showroom. She joined the family enterprise more than a decade ago after her husband invited her to help carry forward his father's legacy, bringing with her a foundation in industrial design from Mexico along with earlier professional experience in sporting goods purchasing and online retail content. Prior to her work in manufacturing, she ran her own creative studio in Monterrey focused on industrial and graphic design, and briefly explored a path in kinesiology in Montreal before financial realities redirected her toward design and business.

Beyond her role at Exclusive Iron Doors, Diana has expanded into media and personal development, creating the Living the Work Podcast, where she explores how individuals pursue balance across their careers, families, and personal growth. She holds a certification as a Jay Shetty–trained Life and Success Coach, a credential that complements her natural inclination toward mentorship and reflection. Her academic background includes a degree in Industrial Design and Product Development from CEDIM in Monterrey, as well as coursework in Design and Applied Arts at Concordia University in Canada.

Diana credits much of her professional growth to teamwork, adaptability, and a mindset centered on continuous learning, often citing figures known for relentless self-improvement as personal inspiration. She is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of professionals, particularly young women navigating the intersection of career ambition and family life, encouraging them to pursue independence, resilience, and authenticity in equal measure. Looking to the future, she is developing educational courses and building what she describes as a lasting knowledge library, intended to pass down business and life lessons to young professionals and to her own children for years to come.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Diana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being a strong team player and knowing that I don't have to control everything myself. I've built my career around a continuous learning mindset, and I draw a great deal of inspiration from people who exemplify relentless growth, such as Kobe Bryant. I believe that true success comes from empowering yourself through learning while knowing how to collaborate effectively and use each team member's strengths wisely.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received came from my mother and grandmother, who taught me not to take life or work too seriously. Work will never truly be finished, so I've learned to make time for the people and experiences that bring me joy. I try to stay true to myself, enjoy life along the way, and remember that success should never come at the expense of personal happiness.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage women to work hard and remain financially independent, because that independence provides real freedom and security. My advice is to find balance between career, family, and personal goals, and to remember that pursuing motherhood, travel, and professional success at the same time is absolutely possible. I see hard work not as a sacrifice, but as an investment that creates future opportunities and freedom.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Right now, my field is dealing with significant challenges, including import tariffs, economic uncertainty, global competition, and pricing pressures from overseas producers. Rather than viewing these as setbacks, I see them as opportunities to innovate. Looking ahead, my team and I are focused on launching a podcast, developing educational courses, and sharing business and life lessons with young professionals between the ages of 25 and 35, while building a lasting knowledge library for future generations, including my own children.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most, both professionally and personally, are communication, resilience, balance, and authenticity. I believe strong communication is the foundation of healthy relationships and successful teamwork, while resilience helps me navigate life's inevitable challenges. Honesty runs alongside all of this, grounding how I approach both my business and my family life.
