Her Story
About Diana
I do have a bachelor's degree in medical management. I was working in my field for over 10 plus years. Then the unfortunate situation of cancer came around the time of COVID. I'm a licensed insurance agent for about 38 states. They couldn't wait on me to heal and terminated my position in Texas at-will state. I took initiative with programs available like disability. I founded The Colorful World of Cancer to help others going through cancer by providing resources, raising funds for Cancer Care Services of Tarrant County. We've been recognized by the City of Fort Worth and Forest Hill, Texas.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Diana
01What do you attribute your success to?
God and prayer. Much prayer, much power. I have the power to win, the strength to endure, and the knowledge to be progressive in spite of cancer.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Trust your managerial instinct. Go with what you know is true from your own experience. You can only teach somebody from your own experience, whether you failed or succeeded, and use that to help others.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be the best that they can be. There's only one you. Take the food and measure it. Learn from the bad. And gain an opportunity to continue to succeed, to be the best you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Connecting with sponsorship is challenging. You have to know who to contact, how, and when - catch them at beginning of year or end of quarter. Put your feet on the ground and go out physically to ask for support.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Be genuine, loyal, and kind. The GLK experience. You're only gonna have one opportunity to have a first impression. Be your best.
