Her Story
About Diana
Diana Morales is the Founder and CEO of DM Biotech Consulting, a firm she launched in 2024 to help small biotech startups, clinical drug development companies, and venture capital firms build stronger commercial strategies and secure funding. With more than 25 years of experience spanning the bioprocess, cell, and gene therapy sectors, she has built her career around helping emerging companies translate scientific innovation into market success. Prior to striking out on her own, she held senior leadership positions at organizations including OrganaBio, Mass Biologics, Invetech, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and GE Healthcare, where she sharpened her skills in account management, cGMP manufacturing, and large-scale business development. Today, she continues to serve the industry in multiple capacities, including as VP of Strategic Partnerships at Organamet Bio, Fractional CEO of Metfora Diagnostics, and as a board member for organizations such as DRG Group and Caravan Bio.
Beyond her consulting work, Morales is a published author and community builder. Her book, Rise Above the Noise, became an Amazon bestseller across three career and women's categories, and she followed it with the Rise Above Career Blueprint, a resource designed to help others apply the lessons from her own path. She also founded the Women Who Rise Network and the Horizon Network, two initiatives created to give women a supportive space to grow professionally and build meaningful careers. Her contributions to the industry have been widely recognized, earning her honors such as the "Women We Admire" Top 50 Women Healthcare National Leader award, Top 50 Women Leader recognitions in Connecticut and Massachusetts, IATOP's Top Biotech CEO award, and a place on the Marquis Who's Who Honoree List.
A first-generation professional shaped by an immigrant upbringing, Morales credits much of her success to the resilience she developed early in life, along with the mentors who taught her to treat every setback as motivation rather than defeat. She holds bachelor's degrees in business from both the University of Phoenix and Ashford University, and has continued to build her leadership capabilities through executive training programs, including GE's Crotonville program. Fluent in Albanian and Greek, with working knowledge of Spanish and Italian, she brings a global, multicultural perspective to her work with clients across the industry. Whether coaching founders on how to project confidence to investors or mentoring the next generation of women in biotech, Morales remains driven by a consistent set of values: transparency, empowerment, and the belief that fear should never stand in the way of possibility.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Diana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to tenacity, the strong mentorship I received from my parents and others along the way, and the resilience I built growing up in a difficult immigrant background. I've always used every "no" I received as fuel to keep pushing forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've received came from my mentors and my father, who taught me to believe that everything is possible. He also encouraged me to seek out mentorship from people who have already achieved what I hope to achieve.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women not to lead from a place of fear — eliminating fear is what opens the door to possibility. I encourage them to find effective mentors, to stand up for themselves, and to be intentional about the people they surround themselves with as they grow in their careers.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges I see are the systemic barriers women continue to face in biotech, along with inexperienced leadership at some smaller biotech companies. At the same time, I see real opportunity in helping startups run their operations more effectively, commercialize their products successfully, and access the right kind of funding.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are resilience, transparency, empowerment, tenacity, and taking care of myself from the inside out.
