Diana Ornelas

I am a pharmacy business and 340B program leader with over a decade of experience in health care administration at one of California's premier academic health systems. I currently serve as Senior Manager of Pharmacy Business Services at UCI Health, a role I stepped into in August 2025, where I lead strategic pharmacy business operations and oversee 340B program compliance and optimization across the health system.

Prior to this role, I spent eleven years at UCI Health as Pharmacy Business Manager and 340B Manager, where I built and managed the health system's 340B program from the ground up. In that capacity, I was responsible for ensuring compliance with federal 340B regulations, optimizing drug pricing savings, and coordinating across pharmacy, finance, and hospital administration to maximize the program's impact on patient care and operational efficiency. I am Apexus 340B University on Demand Certified, reflecting my deep expertise in this highly specialized area of health care finance and pharmacy administration.

I hold a Master of Public Administration in Health Care Administration and Management from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Across my career in health care administration, I have focused on the intersection of compliance, finance, and patient care—ensuring that pharmacy services operate efficiently and effectively so that patients receive the medications they need and the health system can continue to serve its mission. I am proud of the work I have done to build and sustain UCI Health's 340B program, and I remain deeply committed to advancing pharmacy business practices that support both fiscal responsibility and exceptional patient outcomes.
