Her Story
About Diana
I've been in the bookkeeping industry since 2017, starting with internships and working my way up. During my college years from 2017 to 2020, I worked in accounting and bookkeeping for NXD, a print and assembly business, which gave me hands-on experience in the field. After graduating from George Mason University in 2021 with my Bachelor's in Business Management, I worked as an integration specialist at Explore Learning from 2020 to 2024, where I handled the tech side of online learning services, located data, and provided customer service. In 2024, I made the leap to doing my business full-time, and I've been running Timeless Bookkeeping and Business Services with my brother as co-owner for about two years now. I'm a very big people person and very extroverted, and I consider my customer service skills to be one of my biggest assets. My most notable professional achievement is making it to where I'm at right now in such a short amount of time. I'm also a Virginia notary and hold certifications in bookkeeping, human resources, and Maxwell Leadership.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Diana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say my family and myself. I think it's what you put out is what you get. The amount of effort and energy you invest directly determines what you receive in return. My family has been a huge support system for me, and I've learned that the work I put in is reflected in the results I achieve.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to keep pushing forward, especially during those difficult moments. There are times when I want to give up or the stress feels like too much to handle, especially since I have my own clientele to manage. But I've learned that those moments don't really define everything. The key is being able to just keep pushing forward and not let temporary challenges derail you from your goals.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For me, it would be basically to step out there and get out of your comfort zone. I sometimes let fear take a hold of everything, and I know how that can hold you back. My advice would be just being more confident and being able to just achieve things more. Don't let fear stop you from pursuing your goals and reaching your full potential.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge for me right now is finding more ways to grow. It's not necessarily a challenge, but something that I want to work on. I've already established a few clients, but obviously the goal is to become bigger. I feel like I'm kind of starting all over again in some ways. I've established a plateau of clients, but I also want to be able to obtain more. So figuring out how to market myself, how to obtain new clients, and how to put myself out there are the main opportunities I'm focused on right now.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I feel like just staying true to yourself is a big one for me. Being not only honest, but humble are the values that guide both my work and personal life. These principles help me maintain integrity in everything I do and keep me grounded as I grow my business.
