Her Interview
Ten minutes with Diana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith. I live by the spirit and believe that to be successful you always have to be willing to learn, willing to ask questions, and take responsibility. Many opportunities came because I was willing to step into unfamiliar places and figure things out. I advocate for myself and step into rooms even when I don't feel qualified, knowing everything is a lesson. I've learned through trial and error and failed a lot, but that's the only way to learn.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to always be trainable. You never know everything, so keep learning every day.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't wait until you feel qualified. If you don't feel qualified, don't talk yourself out of it. Take that step.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is that an executive administrator handles so much across all areas of operations, which can become overwhelming when people expect so much. But it's also a great opportunity because we're the one person involved in every department who knows a little bit about everything going on in the company, allowing us to learn, absorb skills, knowledge, and experience.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, and humility are most important to me. We all started somewhere and we're all going to end up in the same place, so treat everybody with respect because everybody deserves respect.
