About Diana

Diana Team serves as Director of Enrollment Systems and Training in the education industry, where she has worked for over 25 years. She entered the field in the 1990s after the aerospace industry experienced significant layoffs, having previously supported dislocated workers through a government-funded nonprofit Title IV program. In her current position, she collaborates with admissions directors, registrars, and career services to automate enrollment processes, ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, and maintain alignment between front-end admissions and back-end student support. Her notable professional achievement includes leading the automation of admissions requirements and business processes, allowing advisors to focus more on student needs while meeting auditing, accreditation, state, and federal guidelines. Diana holds an associate's degree earned through a school where she worked, a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, and is currently enrolled in an MBA program after beginning her studies as a business major at Cal Poly. She attributes her success to her work ethic, continuous self-improvement, accountability for weaknesses, and playing to her strengths, while emphasizing values of loyalty and integrity in both her professional and personal life. She advises young women entering the field to remain brave, prioritize their careers, and recognize their ability to succeed independently.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Diana

01What do you attribute your success to?

My dad and my work ethic. Just keeping continuing and moving forward in all these, finding out how you can improve yourself. Being accountable to what your weaknesses are and being alert to what your strengths are. Playing to your strengths is important but also figuring out the tangibles of what are the controllables that can help me do even a better job. Gratitude, being grateful for the things that you have in your life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My first mentor had me read the book 'Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.' Things are gonna be scary and you're gonna think you can't and you're gonna feel defeated but you need to move forward and do it anyway because the comfort zone does not provide for growth. It happens outside the comfort zone.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Continue to be brave. Women today have really taken the role of being so brave. Prioritize your careers before you prioritize your family. It's so important for women to know that they can do it on their own. You don't need that partnership. It's great but it's not a necessity. I never want my daughter to think that she can't accomplish buying a house or doing the things she wants to do unless she's married and has two incomes.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunities are gonna be to always keep up with the newest generations. Higher education has different pathways. Every generation that I've worked with from the Gen Xers all the way down to the Millennials have been very different. Knowing the generations that are coming into the workforce is one of the things that we don't talk about enough.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Loyalty is a big one for me. I'm also very loyal to my company and my current boss. Integrity. I think integrity sometimes and loyalty if they're not in alignment there's something wrong. You can't compromise your integrity just to be loyal. Those two things kind of go hand in hand.
