Her Interview

Ten minutes with Diane

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to working as a legal secretary and moving into law firm management with over 35 years in the legal industry. For the past 12 years, I’ve built on that foundation to successfully run my own consulting firm and help law firms operate more efficiently.

I also attribute my success to the incredible work and knowledge of my team. Their dedication, creativity, and resilience have made a real difference, and it’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come together. Every achievement we’ve celebrated is the result of our hard work and collaboration.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always be Fair and Honest when managing people. Read Emotional Intelligence at Work and the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. Join and become involved in a legal association - a Bar Association, the Association of Legal Administrators and if you in are HR, Society for Human Resource Management and if you are in IT, International Legal Technology Association.

It is going to be hard, but really try not to take everything personally. You will be working with very educated, type A people, under stress who have been taught to find fault and argue their point.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my business right now is the uncertainty of maintaining a consistent client base. As a business owner, there’s always the concern regarding ensuring a steady flow of clients while continuing to deliver high-quality service and value.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important value to me in both my work and personal life is family. Family keeps me grounded, motivates me to succeed, and reminds me of what truly matters beyond the work I do.
