Through a combination of in-person engagement and strategic digital marketing, Diane helps position Amaya Roofing & Waterproofing as a trusted, visible, and connected resource within the commercial roofing and real estate industries.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Diane
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith, my daughters, and an internal drive to continuously become a better version of myself. I believe meaningful success is built through small, consistent improvements, so I challenge myself to grow, remain disciplined, and accomplish something each day. The principles in Atomic Habits have reinforced my belief that lasting transformation comes from the choices and habits we repeat daily.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Just because you are capable of doing everything does not mean you have to do it all. Learning to delegate, establish boundaries, and protect my energy has been essential to my growth. Many women become accustomed to over-functioning and carrying more than necessary, but sustainable success requires balance, trust, and knowing when to allow others to support the vision.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Give yourself time to learn the industry before placing pressure on yourself to master everything. Spend the first six months to a year observing, asking questions, gathering information, and understanding how the business truly operates. Build genuine relationships with experienced professionals, especially other women and business developers, and do not be afraid to learn from their experiences. Confidence comes with exposure, consistency, and preparation, so remain patient and allow yourself to grow into your role.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges in business development is maintaining hundreds of meaningful relationships across commercial real estate, construction, multifamily, HOA, and residential sectors without allowing those relationships to become transactional. It requires organization, consistent communication, visibility, and a genuine desire to remain connected. At the same time, this creates an incredible opportunity for professionals who know how to combine relationship-building with technology, strategic marketing, and strong follow-through. The people who remain useful, memorable, and consistent will continue to stand out.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity, integrity, faith, and personal responsibility are central to how I live and work. I believe in remaining true to myself, treating people well, and conducting business in a way that reflects my character even when no one is watching. I am also deeply mindful that my two daughters are observing how I navigate life. I want to model strength, kindness, discipline, resilience, and self-respect so they understand that success should never require them to compromise who they are.
