About Diane
Diane Hubert is a finance and accounting professional with 30 years of experience, specializing in cost accounting and inventory. She majored in the accounting field after starting as a finance major in college and began her career with a CPA. Much of her work has been in cost accounting, with a short time in healthcare accounting under non-GAAP standards. She attributes her success to good managers providing hands-on learning and values balance with family first. She is involved with her son's high school Parent and Teacher Association and her local church's annual fundraiser supporting school scholarships.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I've had some very good managers that really helped mold the way and get that work experience. School helps a little but it's more hands-on learning from managers.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stay on top of it because there's a line of people on the sidewalk waiting for your job. Don't slack off, keep your drive going. If you chose the wrong field, rethink it and move on.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Build on the foundation of your education but know it's going to grow. Strive to work with a manager who will mentor you. Go with your gut if something doesn't feel right. Rely on what you've learned and go back to the basics.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Having balance with family first. Coworkers can become like family but keep a distance and stay focused on your own family.
