Diann Patterson

Diane Patterson serves as a customer service representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, she helps customers with open enrollment for insurance, processes premium payments, and handles Medicaid applications, including approvals and disapprovals. She also assists with programs such as food stamps, TANF, daycare, and public housing. Patterson began her career in medical insurance and public assistance at SC Thrive, where she learned the basics of the field. She later worked with the Department of Social Services through a temp agency before spending seven years in the car dealership industry, advancing to internet sales manager. During her dealership tenure, she received Employee of the Year recognition, which motivated her ongoing commitment to assisting others. Outside of her professional work, Patterson volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader, enjoying the opportunity to motivate children toward success. She plans to launch a personal outreach program to support her community, particularly those in poverty, by connecting them with available resources.
