Her Story

About Diane

I started my career as a registered pharmacist because I wanted to be able to help people in healthcare. About 12 to 13 years ago, I returned to the workforce when my youngest daughter went to school full-time and transitioned into home care. Now, as a Business Development Account Manager for Caregivers of America and ReadyCare Home Care, I specialize in care management and business development. I don't have a typical day because I'm out in the field most of the time, not in the office. I have the honor and privilege of meeting with people in facilities or in their homes. I meet with many of clinicians throughout the day. What gives me the greatest sense of purpose is being able to help people when they are in need or in crisis. I don't see challenges in my work, I see growth opportunities. Whatever challenge there is, I view it as an opportunity to grow.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Your career path is never a straight arrow. It's not a straight path. And wherever it takes you, it's an area for growth, so if one part doesn't work, then grow from it, leave it behind, and make something new from whichever direction your career is taking you next. There is always a pivot, a new direction to take.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I don't see challenges in my field as challenges. Whatever challenge there is, I don't see it as a challenge, I see it as growth opportunities. My job title now is Business Development Account Manager, and in that respect, there's always room to grow.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, integrity, perseverance, fortitude, and grit
