Dina Azevedo
Dina Azevedo is a seasoned insurance professional whose career spans more than three decades. Her journey in insurance began 35 years ago while still in high school, filing for an insurance agency. Initially planning to pursue law, she was encouraged by her first boss to try insurance sales, recognizing that a legal career might make it challenging to balance family life. Early success in sales convinced her to remain in the industry, and after nine years as an independent agent—while also earning an associate degree in marketing through night school—she joined Amica Mutual Insurance 27 years ago, continuing a career defined by dedication, expertise, and excellence.
At Amica, Dina has focused on property and casualty insurance, working with clients across the East Coast and as far west as California. Her commitment to educating clients and providing personalized solutions has earned her national recognition, including ranking #1 in the country for sales in 2024 and 2026, #2 in 2025, and receiving the Five-Star Award for ten consecutive years. She has also earned her AINS certification, demonstrating ongoing professional development and a commitment to the highest industry standards.
Beyond her awards, Dina takes pride in building trust and long-term relationships with her clients. She strives to ensure that each customer understands their insurance options and feels confident that they are placed with the best coverage available. Combining decades of expertise, unwavering professionalism, and a genuine passion for client service, Dina exemplifies excellence in the insurance industry while mentoring others and making a meaningful impact in every interaction.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to just having good habits and maintaining a routine, giving my best every day. By staying educated in my field and being able to answer customers' questions with knowledge and expertise, I've been able to do very well. What's important to me is that I don't look at anyone else's numbers or compete with other people. Even though everyone seems to see my name at number one every year, I don't focus on that. I just give my best each day and focus on what I'm doing. I think that approach, staying true to myself and focusing on my own performance rather than comparing myself to others, is what has brought me the success I've achieved over these 35 years.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When asked about the people who have made the biggest impact in his life and career she highlighted first and foremost her late mother, who has always been her hero. Dina has eight siblings, and her mother worked diligently as a wonderful woman to be an incredible mother an inspiration to her and her siblings. She has always been extremely humble and passed wonderful values to Dina which she is ever grateful for. We are honored to highlight her mother and her incredible impacted Tina's Life. She would also love to highlight her first boss that convinced her to enter the insurance realm, by convincing her that being an attorney would be difficult while being a mother and essentially talked her out of having to be in court all day. If it wasn't for that, she may have never entered this field and had such a fulfilling career so he was absolutely her second role model and she is very grateful for the impact he had in her life.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to focus on having good habits. Just maintain a routine and give your best every day. By being educated in your field and being able to answer customers' questions with knowledge and expertise, you can do very well. Don't compare yourself to others or compete with anyone else. Stay true to yourself, follow those good habits, and just focus on giving your best. That's what will lead to success in this field.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunities in my field today lie in the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients while helping them navigate an increasingly complex insurance landscape. What has inspired my journey—and continues to keep me motivated—is the chance to educate clients, guide them to the best solutions, and witness the peace of mind that comes from knowing they are protected. I am passionate about connecting with incredible women in our network, sharing insights from my career, and inspiring readers to pursue their own paths with confidence and purpose. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from mentors, colleagues, and clients who have shaped my professional growth and reinforced the importance of integrity, diligence, and empathy. Outside of work, I find joy in personal pursuits and hobbies that keep me balanced and energized, and I hope to bring that same enthusiasm to every interaction. As I look to the next chapter of my story, I am excited to continue expanding my impact, mentoring others, and contributing to a field that has given me so much fulfillment and purpose.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are showing my daughters how important it is to be an independent woman and to work hard. I tell them that working hard is hard, but being poor is harder. I want them to understand the importance of being independent and being happy in what they do. It's not just about money - it's about doing what you love and being happy. Having compassion in what you do and having empathy for other people is really important as well. I try to instill these values in my daughters every day, teaching them to work hard, be independent, find happiness in their work, and always approach life with compassion and empathy for others.
