About Dinorah
Dinorah Scholl is an accomplished Senior Paralegal with nearly three decades of experience in the legal profession, building a distinguished career through dedication, continuous learning, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. She currently serves as a Senior Paralegal at Susman Godfrey LLP in Houston, where she has been an integral member of the firm for approximately five years. Beginning her career in entry-level positions as a file clerk, receptionist, and legal secretary, Dinorah steadily advanced through experience, determination, and the mentorship of exceptional attorneys. Her practice focuses on personal injury, product liability, construction defect, and breach of contract litigation, with extensive expertise in trial preparation, legal research, arbitration, document management, e-filing, and complex litigation support.
Dinorah earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Operations from LeTourneau University and a Paralegal Certification from Southwestern Paralegal Institute. Throughout her career, she has remained actively engaged in the legal community through organizations such as the Houston Metropolitan Paralegal Association and the Texas Bar Association of Legal Assistance. In recognition of her professional accomplishments and contributions to the legal industry, she was honored by Marquise Who's Who in 2023. Guided by the principles of integrity, honesty, accountability, and teamwork, Dinorah believes that success is built on owning mistakes, learning from them, and fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. Beyond her legal career, Dinorah is passionate about serving her community and advocating for individuals with autism, mental illnesses, and the elderly. Inspired by her experience as the mother of a daughter on the autism spectrum, she has dedicated herself to helping families navigate educational resources, advocacy, and support systems while emphasizing individual strengths and abilities. She also enjoys spending time with senior citizens, listening to their stories and providing companionship, and participates in community service initiatives alongside her partner, a police sergeant. Whether through volunteerism, fitness, swimming, or community outreach, Dinorah is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others while living a life centered on compassion, gratitude, and service.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible attorneys I've had the privilege of working with throughout my career. Their mentorship, guidance, and willingness to invest in my growth gave me invaluable opportunities to learn every aspect of the legal field, including working alongside them at trial. I am deeply grateful for their support, which has shaped the professional I am today, and I continue to value the relationships I've built with many of them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to never be afraid to ask questions. If you're unsure about something, don't make assumptions—seek clarification so you can get it right the first time. Open communication and teamwork are essential because we're all working toward the same goal and representing our attorneys, our firm, and each other. Asking questions isn't a sign of weakness; it's a sign of professionalism and a commitment to doing your best.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the legal industry is to give it your all, embrace every opportunity to learn, and never be afraid to ask questions. Don't shy away from challenging cases—they're often where you'll grow the most. I started as a file clerk and worked my way up through several roles, and each experience gave me a deeper understanding of the legal profession. Stay curious, work hard, support others, and remember that when there's a will, there's a way.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the legal field right now is keeping up with the rapid pace of technological change, especially the rise of AI. As new tools and processes continue to emerge, it's important to stay adaptable, embrace continuous learning, and be open to change. At the same time, these advancements create exciting opportunities to improve efficiency and expand our skills. My advice is to take advantage of available training, ask for support when needed, and remain committed to learning as the profession continues to evolve.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, honesty, and accountability. I believe everyone makes mistakes, but what truly matters is owning them, learning from them, and taking the necessary steps to improve. Being truthful, treating others with respect, and taking responsibility for your actions builds trust and strengthens both your relationships and your character.
