Beginning her role on May 19, 2026, Dixie works closely with stakeholders, community partners, and internal teams to develop branding strategies, create impactful campaigns, and share the stories that highlight CPE’s mission as the community arm of UTC. With a strong background in higher education marketing, she brings a passion for authentic storytelling, creative strategy, and building meaningful connections between organizations and their audiences.

Dixie brings three and a half years of experience in higher education marketing, previously serving as a Social Media Marketer for Career Connections and as a Marketing Assistant for the UTC Graduate School. In these roles, she supported digital communications, content creation, social media strategy, and cross-campus initiatives designed to engage students and showcase institutional impact. In addition to her university experience, Dixie founded and operated Dixie Digital, a digital marketing agency dedicated to helping small businesses and community-based startups establish their brands, enhance their digital presence, and develop customized marketing strategies. Through her entrepreneurial work, she has built expertise in brand development, digital marketing, social media management, graphic design, project management, audience engagement, and strategic planning.

Dixie earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications with minors in Humanities and Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, graduating in May 2026. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and is committed to serving her community through involvement with organizations including The Room at the Inn and The Momentum Network. Recognized for her collaborative approach, clear communication, and authenticity, Dixie believes successful marketing is built on trust, creativity, and genuine relationships. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, backpacking, camping, and paddle boarding, as well as spending quality time with her two younger sisters. Her curiosity, creativity, and dedication to purposeful storytelling continue to shape her career as a marketing professional and community advocate.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to show up every day as my authentic self. I've learned that authenticity builds trust, strengthens relationships, and allows me to lead with confidence and integrity. Rather than trying to fit a mold or meet others' expectations, I focus on bringing my unique perspective, values, and strengths to everything I do. Being genuine has not only helped me grow professionally but has also created more meaningful connections and opportunities throughout my career.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to invest in building a strong reputation, be bold in pursuing your goals, and embrace who you are without apology. Never underestimate the value of the small learning opportunities along the way, as each experience helps shape your knowledge, confidence, and career growth. Stay curious, continue learning, and use every opportunity to develop your skills, build relationships, and make your unique impact.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are collaboration, clear communication, and authenticity. I believe that strong relationships and successful outcomes are built through teamwork, open dialogue, and a willingness to listen and learn from others. Staying true to who I am while creating an environment of trust and respect allows me to connect meaningfully with others and contribute my best in every situation.
