About Dolly
Dolly Allen serves as President of Maternal and Pediatric Services at Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She has been in the healthcare field for at least a couple of decades, beginning her career as a neonatal intensive care nurse at the bedside before advancing to clinical educator for the NICU. She then moved into leadership positions, including a role as director of an adult emergency room, and has spent the last little over two years at her current facility after prior work at another acute care hospital. Allen's expertise centers on maternal and pediatric services, neonatal intensive care, and enhancing the patient experience of care, particularly for women and children during hospitalization and birthing experiences. She holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Executive Nurse Leadership, a Master's in Clinical Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Her certifications include NEABC as an Advanced Nurse Executive and specialized training in extreme low birth weight babies. Allen is a member of the Organization for Nurse Leaders, the American Nurses Association, New Jersey O&L, and A1. She has been recognized for her customer service, particularly for creating a boutique for parents in the NICU, and has volunteered as a conference speaker on culture and contracts related to exclusive breastfeeding at an international nursing conference in Czechoslovakia. She also attended the Black Breastfeeding Week event in Central Park.
