Her Interview
Ten minutes with Domenica
01What do you attribute your success to?
I just want to make my family proud. They've sacrificed a lot for me to be here. And make myself proud because I'm hard on myself. So I think that and be a good sister and good friends and just try to do my best.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Try to take things off of your boss's plate and make their life easier. For promotions, your boss is not the only one that is gonna make the decision so make sure that you know who's gonna vote and have a relationship with them. Your work is not only doing A to B but you have to find another way to brand yourself at the company. Show up and network.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't see being the only woman as a disadvantage, it's a competitive advantage because you have a woman's perspective. Never forget that the next 10 years the transfer of wealth is going to be mostly to women. Don't be afraid to speak your mind. Don't be apologetical. Don't be afraid to make mistakes or ask for promotions.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Empathy, loyalty, being reliable, being a good friend, community, having a positive attitude and always smiling.
