• De Anza College
What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the good mentors I had in college. They guided me, inspired me, and helped shape the approach I use today in teaching sports performance, especially in running. I make sure athletes stay injury-free while achieving their performance goals, and my experience as a college runner gives me firsthand insight into the dedication and discipline required to excel.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to pursue your goals and never give up. That guidance has stayed with me throughout my career, motivating me to keep pushing forward, even when challenges arise or the path isn’t clear.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my industry is making sure athletes get properly trained while staying injury-free. Balancing performance goals with safety requires careful planning, attention to detail, and constant communication with each athlete.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value a balanced personal and professional life. Outside of training, I enjoy freelance photography and running, which not only keep me active but also fuel my creativity and provide a sense of fulfillment beyond work.
