Domonique Cobb, PhD
Domonique Cobb, PhD, is an educator, scholar, and community advocate based in Racine, Wisconsin, whose work centers on educational equity, youth advocacy, and systemic reform. She serves as an educator and high school majorette instructor with Racine Unified School District, where she supports students across middle and high school settings while also leading culturally affirming arts programming. Her academic training culminated in a doctorate in Urban Education from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where her research focused on exclusionary discipline and its impact on Black women and girls in K–12 education.
With more than a decade of experience in education and youth-serving systems, Domonique’s career bridges scholarship and practice. She has worked as a full-time biology teacher, substitute educator, and research assistant with the Institute for Urban Education, collaborating with students, teachers, and community leaders to dismantle barriers to educational access. Beyond the classroom, she is deeply involved in prevention and intervention efforts for vulnerable youth, serving as a board member of Fight to End Exploitation and supporting city programs addressing chronic runaways and human trafficking. She also serves as an area representative for International Student Exchange, expanding global and cultural opportunities for young people.
A values-driven leader, Domonique grounds her work in integrity, empathy, equity, and community. She is particularly known for growing the majorettes program from a small team of seven students into three thriving high school teams serving roughly 30 students, earning local and state recognition along the way. Whether through teaching, research, mentorship, or advocacy, Domonique is committed to empowering young people—especially Black girls—and contributing to schools and communities where all students can learn, lead, and thrive.
