What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of passion, drive, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact on my community and future generations. Since beginning my legal career as a law clerk in 2007 and obtaining my first law license in 2010, I have pursued opportunities that allow me to protect innovation, guide businesses, and ensure the safety of critical resources such as water and food supplies. Transitioning from law firm practice to a corporate legal setting has enabled me to focus on contracts and legal documents while also advocating for children’s rights and supporting families. I am honored to have received recognition for my work, including being named Patent Attorney of the Year in 2022, the Client’s Choice Award for Best Contract Lawyer in 2024, and being designated a Distinguished Member of Lawyers of Distinction™ in 2025. These achievements reflect not only my dedication but also my belief in encouraging others to contribute to the betterment of their communities.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to lead with purpose, stay true to my values, and always look for ways to make a positive impact on others. My career was inspired by a passion for protecting innovation and serving my community, and I strive to connect with and inspire other women to pursue their goals and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. I am deeply grateful for the mentors, colleagues, and family who have supported and encouraged me along the way, helping me navigate challenges and celebrate successes. Outside of work, I am passionate about children’s rights, environmental and public health protection, and giving back to my community. These guiding principles motivate me to continue inspiring others to make a difference.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the legal field is to persevere and remain committed to your goals. While law school can be challenging, it is a rewarding path that opens many opportunities. I encourage aspiring lawyers to gain practical experience early, such as working as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in related roles, to build a strong foundation. Additionally, in some states, it is possible to take the bar exam without attending law school, so exploring alternative paths can also be valuable. The key is to stay focused, seek out mentors, and remain confident in your abilities as you navigate your career.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith, family, and gratitude. My relationship with God guides me in all that I do, and my family is my greatest source of inspiration and pride. I am incredibly proud of the son I am raising, who motivates me every day to be strong, compassionate, and purposeful. I am also deeply grateful for the influence of my mother, whose guidance, support, and encouragement have shaped the person I am today. Seeing the qualities of my mother reflected in my son is truly meaningful, and these values of faith, family, and gratitude continue to guide both my personal and professional journey.
