About Donna

Donna Fox is a seasoned entrepreneur, mobile notary, and business owner based in Dyer, Indiana, with a diverse career spanning transportation, real estate, consumer services, and entrepreneurship. She began her professional journey in the transportation industry, working as an office manager and truck driver before building businesses alongside her former husband. Together, they grew their first transportation company and expanded their operations to include seven additional businesses. Following her divorce, Fox transitioned into a new chapter of entrepreneurship and launched her mobile notary business in 2013, demonstrating her resilience, adaptability, and determination to create new opportunities.

Over the years, Fox has owned and operated several businesses, including Wigs on Wheels, Inc., a mobile service that provided professional wig fittings in clients’ homes. She also owns Rae Realty LLC and has developed expertise in sales, customer relationship management, business development, team building, and public speaking. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Fox is deeply committed to serving her community. She provides transportation assistance to individuals who have difficulty getting around and volunteers at a nearby assisted living facility, where she engages with residents by painting their nails and calling bingo. Her commitment to helping others reflects the compassion and service-oriented approach that has remained central to her career.

Fox’s personal journey has also strengthened her passion for mentoring and supporting others. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she explored an alternative approach to managing her health that included acupuncture, supplements, and dietary changes. Drawing from her own experience, she now encourages and mentors individuals who are pursuing similar wellness journeys, emphasizing the importance of education, self-advocacy, and exploring options that align with their individual needs. Her story is one of resilience, reinvention, entrepreneurship, and service, demonstrating how personal challenges can inspire meaningful leadership and a renewed commitment to helping others.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Donna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to explore new opportunities, and commitment to serving others. Through my mobile notary business and ventures such as “Wigs on Wheels,” I have learned the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and continuing to pursue meaningful ideas even when financial challenges arise. Giving back to my community is equally important to me, which is why I volunteer at an assisted living facility, where I enjoy engaging with residents through activities such as painting their nails and calling bingo. I am also passionate about exploring alternative approaches to wellness and believe in being open-minded when seeking solutions that can improve quality of life.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is simple: go for it. Life is too short to hold yourself back from pursuing your goals and aspirations. If you have a vision, a dream, or an idea that inspires you, have the courage to take the first step and believe in yourself. Do not let fear, uncertainty, or setbacks define your journey. Take the leap, remain persistent, and trust that each experience will help you grow personally and professionally.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are perseverance, self-advocacy, compassion, and helping others. My experiences as a truck driver, business owner, and someone who has faced significant personal challenges have taught me to remain resilient, ask questions, and take an active role in my own well-being and decisions. I believe in educating myself, seeking different perspectives, and advocating for what I believe is right rather than simply accepting circumstances without further investigation. Most importantly, I value using my experiences to encourage and support others, whether through my work, personal relationships, or mentoring someone who may be facing challenges similar to those I have experienced.
